HASSELBLAD lens XCD ƒ2.5/38V

The low-distortion XCD 2.5/38V wide-angle lens has a full-frame focal length of 30mm and is suitable for documentary, street or landscape photography. Capture more environmental details when shooting in portrait mode, or make the subject stand out from the background with the soft bokeh effect of the large f/2.5 aperture. When using the XCD 2.5/38V lens with a small aperture, the leaf shutter can create Hasselblad's signature 8-point starburst effect in bright light sources. The minimum focus distance of the XCD 2.5/38V is just 30cm, perfect for shooting food, products and other stationary subjects. With its compact optical design, small and lightweight focus module and optimized leaf shutter, the XCD 2.5/38V weighs just 350g but offers top-class optical performance.

Precise optics, outstanding images
Capturing the finest nuances of light and shadow starts with the lens. Only with excellent resolution and color reproduction can it provide a solid foundation for imaging. A medium format sensor has a large area and a high pixel density, which places high demands on the precision of the lens. Starting with the selection of high-quality glasses, Hasselblad engineers carefully grind each lens to perfect its optical quality and meet the resolution requirements of 100 million pixels.

The XCD 2.5/38V lens has ten elements in nine groups, including three aspherical elements and three ED glass elements. With the optimized arrangement, the lens not only has a compact size, but also improves light transmission and suppresses chromatic dispersion. Combining the XCD 2.5/38V with a Hasselblad medium format mirrorless camera delivers impressive results.
